Pyrite Microencapsulation to Prevent Acid Mining Drainage

The purpose of this project is to validate an innovative microencapsulation solution that prevents the oxidation of sulfides, reduces environmental risks and reduces the costs associated with the management of mining waste, at a pilot scale in a mining operation. This is intended to reduce the operating time of the HDS treatment plants for the closure and post-closure conditions, minimize the generation of acid rock drainage (ARD) and guarantee the sustainability of mining operations.
