Biography: María Paz is an Agricultural Engineer, has a Master’s in Soil and Water Management from the Universidad de Chile and a Diplomat in Terrestrial Environmental Restoration and Rehabilitation from the same university. She has specialized in environmental monitoring and quality assessment of soils, waters, sediments, and plant species impacted by mining activity. Currently, she works at SMI-ICE-Chile as a researcher and coordinator of projects in the Environmental Rehabilitation and Ecosystem Dynamics line, addressing the development and implementation of strategies for the recovery of contaminated sites.
